Ro Dixon named to Landmark Fall Senior Scholar Athlete List
December 19, 2008
Ro Dixon (Ardmore, Pa./Country Day Sacred Heart), after being named an All-American by the NFHCA, was named to the Landmark Conference Fall Senior Scholar Athlete list.
A committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors select the recipients, choosing one senior from each of the fall sports sponsored by the conference. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life including athletics, academics and other extracurricular activities.
Dixon capped a stellar career by earning third-team All-America status from both the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and the website womensfieldhockey.com and was chosen to play in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game. She was voted the Landmark Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, was a first-team All-Region choice, and claimed first-team All-Conference status for the second-consecutive season.
Off the field Dixon is pursuing a degree in nursing and was a two-time member of the Landmark Academic Honor Roll. She is a teaching assistant for Community and Environmental Nursing at Catholic and spent two weeks as a volunteer in Africa last May for an HIV awareness program.
