Field Hockey Gains More Recognition...This Time Off the Field

WASHINGTON-- After the sticks were put away and the uniforms were turned in, CUA field hockey didn't stop working.  Not only did the team lead on the field, but also off.  The CUA field hockey team received a 2008 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Team Award as well as placed 12 members on the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

To be honored with the team award the squad must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year. This fall, the team achieved a 3.22 GPA.

The NFHCA also honored 12 individuals from the CUA squad, who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.  Those honored include: Andrea Baick, Kelly Carioto, Ellie Cassilly, Ro Dixon, Kim Dwyer, Elizabeth Grumbein, Rebecca Kelly, Krystyanna Ramsdell, Tracey Scanlon, Emily Sencindiver, Mary Swarthout and Carley Walko.
