WASHINGTON-- The Catholic University of America's field hockey team dominated Randolph-Macon University Sunday by a score of 3-0. With the win the team moves to 2-0.
The shots seemed endless for CUA as the Cardinals dominated with an 18-2 advantage in shots as well as a 12-2 advantage in penalty corners. CUA's Mary Swarthout picked up two goals and an assist on the day while Meredith Chandler added a goal and an assist of her own.
Marian Cassilly played all 70 minutes in goal for the Cardinals, but failed to record a save. Molly Mulrain made the only save on the day as Randolph-Macon took only two shots with one of them getting past Cassilly to the stick of Mulrain.
CUA will return to action on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. on the road as the Cardinals face off against Virginia Wesleyan.
