Field Hockey Downs Va. Wesleyan at National Training Facility
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.-- With four different goal scorers CUA field hockey (3-0) defeated Virginia Wesleyan (0-4) at the National Training Facility in Virginia Beach, Va., Friday.
Kendall Petschauer scored the first goal of the game less than 12 minutes into the contest, giving CUA a 1-0 lead. Tracey Scanlon followed with another goal at the 18:50 mark from the top of the circle. Caroline Reilly and Tory Gagliardi each added insurance goals later in the contest.
Virginia Wesleyan, led by Whitney King, who finished with four shots and one goal, managed only five shots in the contest to CUA's 32.
The offensive barrage of CUA saw seven Cardinals with multiple shots, including Tracey Scanlon, who led the team with seven (five on goal). The Cardinals dominated offensively with 12 penalty corners and 18 first-half shots.

CUA will return to action on Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m. as the Cardinals will welcome Gettysburg to Cardinal Stadium to start a four-game homestand that concludes with the Landmark Conference opener against Susquehanna on Sept. 27.
