Cassilly Honored as Player of the Week


WASHINGTON- CUA field hockey team member Marian Cassilly (Gambrills, Md./Archbishop Spalding) was chosen as Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding efforts in last week's contests.

Cassilly gave up only one goal in Catholic University's 2-0 week. She garnered four saves and conceded just one goal in a 3-1 victory over Misericordia. Days later, the senior earned her fourth shutout of the year, stopping one shot in a 2-0 win against Scranton University. Cassilly currently holds a 1.18 goals against average, with a 6-2 win-loss record.

The field hockey team will return to action on October 21st, as they head to Rowan for a 6 p.m., road contest.
