Field Hockey Falls to #2 Salisbury, 2-0
WASHINGTON- The Catholic University of America field hockey team suffered a 2-0 setback to non-conference opponent #2 Salisbury University on their home turf Thursday afternoon. With the loss, the Cards drop to 10-5 on the year, 4-1 in the Landmark Conference, while Salisbury improves to 14-1 overall.
The Cardinals were out-shot 11-5 in the match, and earned one fewer penalty corner opportunity. Goalkeeper Marian Cassily finished with a commendable 8 saves on the night.
Salisbury took an early 1-0 lead, as Lauren Correll scored of a pass from Beverly Beladino at the two minute mark of the first half. The squad then secured the lead by scoring off a scramble in front of the goal at the 52 minute mark.
CUA will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday, October 31st, as they travel to Moravian College for a 1 p.m., conference match-up.
