Marian Cassilly Participates in NFHCA Div. III Senior
WASHINGTON-- CUA field hockey's GK Marian Cassilly was honored earlier this month as she was selected as an alternate and then to participate in the 2009 NFHCA Division III Senior All-Star Game in South Hadley, Mass., at Mount Holyoke College.
The game was played on Sunday, November 22, 2009 just before the national championship game. As an alternate, Cassilly started the second half and allowed only one goal. Her team won the game 4-3.
During her career Cassilly helped lead Catholic to a 22-2 conference record over four years and four straight Mid-Atlantic ECAC post-season tournaments. She was named Capital Athletic Conference rookie of the year in 2006, first team All Landmark Conference in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and second team All Region in 2006 and 2008. For her career, Cassilly posted a .797 save percentage, a 1.12 goals against average and 22 shutouts.
This is the fifth year in a row that CUA has had a representative in the NFHCA Senior All Star Game (Marian Cassilly, 2009; Ro Dixon, 2008; Michele Repass, 2007; Jayme Dinsmore, 2006; Jamie Punyko, 2005).
