Field Hockey Dominates Susquehanna, 8-1
WASHINGTON-- Meredith Chandler and Liz McCormick each had multi-goal games as the CUA field hockey team (6-1, 1-0 LC) defeated Susquehanna(2-7, 0-1 LC), 8-1 on Sunday.
Chandler scored three goals, including the first two of the contest, while McCormick added her two tallies in the second half as the Cardinal offense unleashed 13 shots against the Susquehanna keeper.
Julia Amendola took four shots for the Crusaders in the contest, but Marion Cassilly combined with Krystyanna Ramsdell to make four saves. Andrea Fiori found the back of the net for Susquehanna on her only shot of the game.
CUA played 23 student-athletes in the contest with eight of them recording shots. Chandler scored on each of her three shots, while Andrea Baick found the net on one of her two attempts. Carley Walko and Tracey Scanlon along with McCormick scored on each shot they took today.
The Cardinals dominated shots 13-9 but gave up 12 penalty corners in the match.
CUA will return to action on Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m. as the Cardinals will travel to St. Mary's (Md.).
