16 Cardinals named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

WASHINGTON – The 2010 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic squad was announced on Wednesday and CUA had 16 student-athletes honored, including four time honorees Andrea Baick, Liz Grumbein and Emily Sencindiver.

Along with CUA's three four time honorees the Cardinals had 13 other student-athletes named to the squad including Abby Banholzer, Ellie Cassilly, Hannah Closson, Alison Dillard, Emma Dixon, Tory Gagliardi, Mary Beth Leo, Kaitlin Maloy, Catherine Mirsky, Kaitlyn Petronglo, Krystyanna Ramsdell, Tracey Scanlon and Mary Swarthout.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.

This marks the second time in the last two weeks in which CUA has been honored for its work in the classroom.  The Cardinals were recipients of the 2010 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division National Academic Team Award on February 22. 

To be eligible for that award a team must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.
