CUA continues to rise in national poll; Cardinals now 13th
WASHINGTON – Despite not playing a game last week, the CUA
field hockey team continues to climb in the Kookaburra/NFHCA
Division III Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday. The
Cardinals are now No. 13 in the poll, after checking in at No.
17 just two weeks ago.
CUA also remains among the nation's best in the womensfieldhockey.com rankings where the Cardinals are 15th this week. In addition, CUA has moved into the top-ten of the fieldhockeycorner.com ratings. The Cardinals are ninth in the national ratings and third in the South Atlantic region.
The Cardinals are off to their best start in school history with an 8-1 record. CUA is allowing only 0.67 goals per game this season, which is tenth best in the country, and their 4.33 goals per game checks in at number-eight among all Division III teams. CUA is also ranked in the top-ten nationally in scoring margin (6), shutouts per game (5) and win percentage (6).
The No. 13 Cardinals will play their first game in nine days on Tuesday evening when they travel to take on Landmark Conference foe Goucher. Game time is set for 7:00.
