Cardinals move up one spot in national poll
WASHINGTON – Following a 4-1 win over Drew last week, the
CUA field hockey team moved up one
spot in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll to
No. 14. The Cardinals are currently 12-2 overall and 3-2
in the Landmark Conference.
CUA, which has been ranked in the national poll for six consecutive weeks, has won three straight games, and five of its past six.
In addition to moving up in the national poll, the Cardinals also climbed one spot in the womensfieldhockey.com rankings to No. 18. In the fieldhockeycorner.com ratings CUA jumped two spots to No. 14 nationally, while in the South Atlantic ratings, the Cardinals maintained their hold on the No. 5 spot.
Among Landmark Conference teams, CUA continues to lead in scoring margin, scoring average, shutouts, goals against average, goals scored, goals allowed, and goals allowed per game.
No. 14 CUA returns to action on Thursday evening when the Cardinals hit the road to face the nation’s sixth-ranked team, Salisbury. Game time is scheduled for 6:00.
CUA will close out the regular season on Saturday when the Cardinals play host to conference foe Moravian inside Cardinal Stadium. Start time is slated for 2:00.
