Cardinals ranked 15th in this week's national poll
WASHINGTON – Despite winning both of its games last week
in convincing fashion, the CUA field hockey team dropped one spot
in this week’s Kookaburra/NFHCA National Poll. The
Cardinals check in at No. 15 this week with their 11-2
record.
CUA moved up one spot
in this week’s womensfieldhockey.com rankings where the
Cardinals are currently No. 19. In
the fieldhockeycorner.com national ratings, the Cardinals are
16th, while in the South Atlantic ratings they are fifth.
Both of those ratings are up from last week.
With its eight goals last week, CUA continues to lead the Landmark
Conference in scoring at nearly three goals per game (2.91).
The Cardinals also top the conference stats in scoring average,
shutouts, goals against average, goals scored, and fewest goals
allowed.
Individually, Mary Swarthout ranks fourth in the conference in
goals and points, while Meredith Chandler and Emma Dixon are tied
for sixth in points. Defensively, Krysyanna Ramsdell paces
the league in shutouts with seven and goals against average
(0.81).
No. 15 CUA will return to action on Friday, October 22 when the Cardinals host Drew in a pivotal Landmark Conference showdown. Game time is set for 6:00 from inside Cardinal Stadium.
