Hannah Closson is in her first season as a student assistant
with the Cardinals program. A former member of the CUA
program, Closson played for Coach Cillizza for one year, before
transferring to nearby University of Maryland.
During her one year at CUA, Closson started every game for the
Cardinals, helping lead them to their first ECAC
championship. A native of Columbia, Md., Closson was voted
Rookie of the Year by her teammates and earned a spot on the
Dean’s List with distinction.
Closson is a two-year Futures coach and worked at CUA’s
Revolution Camp this past summer. Closson attended Howard
High School and received a number of accolades for her play,
including First Team All-County (2009) and Howard High School
Female Athlete of the Year (2010). In addition to her field
hockey prowess, Closson was a four-time state qualifier in track
and she served as captain of the field hockey program for two
years.
Currently, Closson is a junior at University of Maryland, where
she majors in physical therapy and serves as president of the club
field hockey team.
