Former CUA All-American Tracey Scanlon begins her first season
as an assistant coach for the Cardinals. In 2011, Scanlon
became the first First Team All-American in CUA field hockey
history, helping to lead the Cardinals to their first conference
championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
A two-sport standout during her undergrad days, Scanlon excelled
on the field hockey and softball fields for the Cardinals.
Scanlon was a three-time first team All-Conference selection in
field hockey, and earned Landmark Conference Player of the Year
honors in 2011. She was also a two-time All-Region honoree
and was selected to the 2011 NFHCA Senior All-Star Game.
On the softball field, Scanlon made a pair of All-Conference
Teams, and finished her career with 102 hits, 79 runs scored and 41
RBIs.
In the classroom, Scanlon earned Dean’s List, Landmark
Conference Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA National Academic Squad
honors in multiple years. She was voted the winner of the
Distinguished Marketing Award, which is awarded to the most
outstanding marketing student at CUA, and was a member of Phi Eta
Sigma Honor Society. In addition, Scanlon received Academic
All-American and All-District honors during the 2011-12 academic
year, and she was named CUA’s Senior Female Athlete of the
Year.
