Woerner Named Player of the Week

WASHINGTON- Freshman Jill Woerner has been named Landmark Conference Player of the Week for her outstanding efforts in last week's women's basketball contests.
Woerner's tenacity on both the offensive and defensive ends helped propel the Cardinals to a 2-1 week, including an undefeated pair of games in Landmark Conference action. The forward recorded two double-doubles, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Susquehanna, and 12 points and 13 rebounds in a loss to Swarthmore. She then tallied 11 points and three rebounds in a victory over Juniata.
The freshman was also a tough defensive force for CUA, grabbing 11 steals and blocking 8 shots in three games. She averaged 13 points, 8.7 boards, 3.7 steals, and 2.7 blocks while shooting 50% in the three games.
Woerner has also made her mark in the Landmark stat books. She currently ranks second in defensive rebounds, second in blocked shots, 7th in steals, and 16th in scoring.
