Robinson Up for Preseason Player of the Year
Lacrosse Magazine has announced that senior midfielder Kate Robinson has been included in LM's 2010 Division III Preseason Player of the Year Fan Poll. Robinson was selected for this prestigious honor along with four other talented athletes, including Rachel Romanowsky (Trinity College, Conn.), Alison Jaeger (The College of New Jersey), and Hollis Stahl (Gettysburg College).
Last season, Robinson was at the heart of the Cardinal's 17-4 record, helping the team reach the NCAA Regional Finals. She is the first two-time All-American for women's lacrosse at CUA (3rd team as a sophomore and 1st team as a junior), and was named womenslacrosse.com Midfielder of the Year in 2009. The decorated senior was Landmark Conference Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Region in 2008 and 2009. She was also Named CAC Rookie of the Year and earned 2nd Team All-Region Honors in 2007.
Robinson currently sits at the top of the Catholic University record book, leading in points (294), goals (216), and assists (78) in her career. She also ranks first in points per season (121 in 2009), assists per season (44 in 2009), goals per season (91 in 2008), and caused turnovers per season (45 in 2009). While competing in the NCAA Tournament last year, the midfielder was ranked highest in goals averaged (6 goals per game) and points averaged (8 points per game), and was one away from tying the record for most goals and most points in the tournament.
