Bellardini, Ricca Named Players of the Week
WASHINGTON- Seniors Elyse Bellardini (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) and Keith Ricca (Poolesville, Md./St. John's Prospect Hall) have been named Landmark and ODAC Players of the Week, respectively, for their strong performances in conference play this weekend.
Bellardini, a midfielder for the women's soccer team, was an intricate piece in CUA's crushing 4-0 victory over Susquehanna. She opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and added a second goal just six minutes later to give the Cards a lead that they would not relinquish. It was her second multi-goal game of the season. Bellardini's efforts helped the CUA clinch the second seed in Landmark postseason play.
Ricca earned his second ODAC weekly award of the season, as he propelled the Cardinals to a 38-23 win over Emory & Henry this weekend. The quarterback completed 27-of-37 passes for 345 yards, including all five of CUA's touchdowns. Ricca now leads the ODAC in quarterback efficiency rating (156.6) and touchdown passes (25).
Women's soccer returns to the field on November 5th for their final home game against Scranton at 2 p.m. Football will travel to Guildford for a 1 p.m. match-up on Saturday, November 8th.
