Landmark Conference announces 2011 Fall All-Academic Team
WASHINGTON – Four Cardinals have been named to the 2011
Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team, it was announced on
Tuesday. George Brewer (cross country), Kathryn Crawford
(cross country), Kelly Crimmins (volleyball) and Justin Oloriz
(soccer) were honored for excelling athletically and
academically.
Brewer was one of CUA’s top performers this season. He
placed ninth at the season opening Albright Invitational, which the
Cardinals won, a 37th place finish at the UMES Invite, which
featured a number of Division I schools, and a 35th place finish at
the Landmark Conference championship.
Crawford was a steady performer for CUA this season on the
trail. She finished 52nd at the UMES Invite, which featured
several Division I schools, and 60th at the Landmark Conference
championships, where CUA placed third overall. Last season,
Crawford placed 14th at the CUA Invite and 67th at the conference
meet.
A first team all-conference selection this season, Crimmins
totaled 185 kills, 95 blocks and 18 digs in 2011. Crimmins
led the Landmark Conference with a .321 hitting percentage, and she
ranked third in blocks, averaging 0.97 per game. Crimmins
posted a season-high 15 kills in CUA’s match at Lancaster
Bible and she blocked a season-high six on two occasions.
Oloriz saw time in 17 matches this season for CUA, in helping lead
the Cardinals to their fourth consecutive appearance in the
Landmark Conference championship. Oloriz scored one goal,
which came vs. Scranton, and it proved to be the game-winner.
Oloriz is a member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor
Roll.
