Landmark Conference announces Spring Academic Honor Roll

WASHINGTON – 55 CUA student-athletes have been named to the 2011 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, it was announced on Thursday.   The honor roll recognizes spring student-athletes of sophomore standing or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.  In all, 280 student-athletes from around the conference were honored.

Two CUA teams earned bids to the NCAA Tournament during the 2011 spring, including the women’s lacrosse and baseball squads.  It marked the fourth consecutive trip for women’s lacrosse and the first trip since the 1970’s for the baseball team. 

In all, six Cardinal teams qualified for their respective conference tournaments, including men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, baseball, softball, men’s tennis and women’s tennis.  Of those six, three advanced to the championship game (women’s lacrosse, baseball, softball).

Below is a list of CUA student-athletes that earned Academic Honor Roll accolades.  Women’s lacrosse led the way with 13 selections, with softball next in line with nine.  Baseball, men’s track and women’s track all had seven student-athletes selected, men’s lacrosse had six, women’s tennis four and men’s tennis two.
