Registration for the 2012 CUA Athletics Golf Classic is now open

WASHINGTON - Registration is now open for the 2012 CUA Athletics Golf Classic, which will take place on Friday, October 26 at Renditions Golf Course in Davidsonville, Maryland. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit CUA’s intercollegiate athletic programs.

On the day of the Golf Classic, registration opens at 10:30 a.m., the driving range and practice greens will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m. the four-person scramble tournament will get underway.

Following the golf action, there will be a reception beginning at 5:30 with dinner and an awards ceremony to follow. Included in the reception will be the fourth annual CUA Smathers Award presentation. The Smathers Award honors a former or current CUA student athlete who has distinguished themselves in service to their community, university, profession or country.

This year’s honoree is Nick Olivero, a 2009 CUA graduate who was a member of the Cardinals football and basketball teams, and currently serves in the United States Army.
