WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America adds another support staff member to the Department of Athletics. Jamie Roberts begins her duties as the Athletic Communications Assistant and will be working alongside Ariel Germain, who was recently hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications in July.
Though she begins her first year as the Athletic Communications Assistant, Roberts is no stranger to CUA athletics. She has spent the past two years on the sidelines as an assistant coach with the women’s basketball team helping lead the team to back-to-back Landmark Conference titles and trips to the NCAA Tournament. Most recently, Roberts served as the Administrative Director for Five-Star Basketball of Greater Washington where she was responsible for overseeing camp registrations and worked directly with the Five-Star Foundation to help financially disadvantaged children attend basketball camp.
In May 2011, Roberts earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Mary’s College (Md.). She brings with her a wide range of knowledge as she was a 3-sport athlete playing basketball, soccer, and lacrosse during her time as a Seahawk. While at SMCM, she earned multiple All-Capital Athletic Conference honors. She was named 2nd team All-CAC as a junior for lacrosse (2010) and again as a senior for basketball (2010-2011). In her senior year she was named captain of her basketball and soccer teams. Roberts served three years on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee encouraging student-athletes to get involved with the local St. Mary’s community. Upon graduation, Roberts was named the St. Mary’s Female Athlete of the Year and also received the Athletic Director’s Award for her many contributions to Seahawk athletics.
