Hurricane Sandy forces additional changes to upcoming tournaments
WASHINGTON – The Landmark Conference announced additional
changes to the upcoming conference tournament schedules on
Wednesday. Due to Hurricane Sandy, the field hockey,
men’s soccer and women’s soccer semifinals and finals
have been moved to the highest seed on a Saturday-Sunday schedule.
CUA will host field hockey, while Susquehanna hosts men’s
soccer and Scranton serves as the women’s soccer host.
Field hockey enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will host
all three contests on its campus. No. 2 Scranton and No. 3
Drew will get things going on Saturday at 11 a.m. from inside
Cardinal Stadium, followed by top-seeded CUA and No. 4 Susquehanna
at 2 p.m.
The two semifinal winners will then meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. in
Washington. CUA will show live video and have live stats
available for all three field hockey tournament games.
The CUA men’s soccer team will begin its postseason at 11
a.m. on Saturday against No. 3 Scranton on the campus of
Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. Top-seed
Susquehanna will then host No. 4 Drew at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with
the finals slated for Sunday at 1 in Selinsgrove.
The CUA women’s soccer team is headed for Scranton, Pa.,
where the Cardinals will take on the No. 1 seed Royals on Saturday
morning at 11 a.m. No. 2 Moravian and No. 3 Drew will then
meet in the other semifinal at 2 p.m., with the championship match
scheduled for Sunday at 1 in Scranton.
