Five Cardinals finish first at Lebanon Valley Invitational
ANNVILLE, Pa. – CUA had a strong afternoon at the Lebanon
Valley Invitational on Saturday. Five Cardinals earned first
place finishes, including Laura Kinley, Courtney Doran, Kelly
Carioto and Mary Clark on the women’s side, and Shawn
Brubaker for the men.
On the women’s side, Kinley won the 800 meters in 2:30.61
and she also took first in the mile, in 5:49.09.
Three other Cardinals finished in the top-six of the 800,
including Tali Peretti (4), Maria Docal (5) and Rebecca Radcliffe
(6), while Madeline Hotz (3), Radcliffe (4) and Keely Eckberg (6)
placed in the top six of the mile.
Eckberg added a second place finish in the 3000 meters, with a
time of 12:01.19, and Hannah Gillis placed second in the 55 meter
hurdles (10.16)
Sarah Deitz, Kelsely Broomfield, Melanie Mulkern and Erin Sandlin
finished second through fifth in the 500 meters.
In the field events, Doran won the high jump with a leap of
4’10”, and Carioto took first in the shot put (12.42
meters), with Clark finishing second (10.37 meters). Clark
then went on to win the weight throw (11.75 meters), with Kaila
DeFalco (9.83 meters) and Christine Fontaine (7.78 meters) placing
fourth and fifth, respectively.
Gillis came in second in the long jump (4.87 meters) and Candance
Williamson finished second in the triple jump (9.66 meters).
On the men’s side, Brubaker won the weight throw (13.60
meters) and then came in third in the shot put, with a throw of
11.55 meters.
Ryan Palmadessa came in sixth in the shot put (9.22 meters).
CUA is back in action on February 4 when the Cardinals travel to
the Du Charme Invitational. Action begins at 10 a.m.
