Holmes named to All-Landmark Conference Team

WASHINGTON – Shawn Holmes was named to the All-Landmark Conference Second Team on Friday after averaging 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season.  This is Holmes' first career All-Conference selection.

Holmes ranks eighth in the conference in scoring, and also sits in the top-15 in field goal percentage, assists, free throw percentage, steals, 3-point percentage, assist/turnover ratio and minutes.  The junior guard played 30 or more minutes 18 times, including all 45 minutes in an overtime contest at Scranton in early January.

A native of Baltimore, Holmes has scored in double figures 14 times this season, including a career-high 26 points in a win over Mt. Aloysius.  He posted five games of at least 20 points, and totaled 13 games of four or more assists.

In three seasons at CUA, Holmes has totaled 753 points, 255 rebounds and 241 assists.

CUA is 17-8 this season and will find out on Monday if is selected for the ECAC Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, February 29.
