Cardinals up to No. 12 in this week's D3Hoops.com top-25 poll
WASHINGTON – CUA moved up two spots in this week’s
D3Hoops.com Top-25 poll, announced on Monday. The Cardinals,
who are 5-0 on the season, check in at No. 12 with 282 points, up
from No. 14 a week ago. CUA has earned four of its five wins
away from home this season, including this past weekend in its
conference opener.
After opening the season with back-to-back wins over nationally
ranked opponents, CUA remained hot last week, downing Haverford,
Frostburg State and Drew in succession.
The Cardinals got their week started with a hard-fought 74-68 road
win at Haverford on Monday, behind 23 points from sophomore Steve
Limberiou.
Two days later, CUA opened its home schedule with an entertaining
73-56 win over Frostburg State inside the DuFour Center. The
Cardinals sank 55% of their shots in the second half and senior
captain Chris Kearney totaled 20 points and nine boards.
On Saturday, CUA headed to New Jersey to face the Rangers in the
2012-13 Landmark Conference opener. Led by Kearney’s 21
points and a 40-24 advantage on the backboards, the Cardinals came
away with a 66-55 win.
Also on Monday, Kearney was
named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week after
averaging 20.3 points on 62% shooting in the three wins last
