Kearney named to Academic All-District Team
WASHINGTON – Senior Chris Kearney has been named to the
2013 Capital One Academic All-District Team, it was announced on
Thursday. A business management major, Kearney is having a
career season on the hardwood, averaging 17.3 points on 53.2
percent shooting and 7.4 rebounds.
A member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, Kearney
maintains over a 3.5 grade point average in the classroom.
The Virginia native has been named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the
Week twice this season and has also collected a pair of Landmark
Conference Player of the Week awards.
Kearney has scored in double figures 18 times in 2012-13, topping
out with a career-high 32 points in a win over Scranton on January
19. Kearney also went over the 1,000-point mark for his
career this season.
The CUA center has pulled down double-digit rebounds in six games,
with a high of 15 coming at Merchant Marine Academy on January
26.
Kearney currently ranks in the top-10 in the Landmark Conference
in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, blocked shots and
minutes. His 196 career blocks ranks third in school
history.

Kearney and the No. 11 Cardinals (18-2, 8-1 Landmark Conference)
