D3Hoops.com names Kearney to Team of the Week for a second time
WASHINGTON – After receiving Landmark
Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday, senior Chris
Kearney added a second accolade in as many days on Tuesday, when he
was named to the D3Hoops.com Team
of the Week. Kearney averaged 25.5 points on 64.7 percent
shooting, as well as 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in two wins for
No. 10 CUA last week. This is the second time this season Kearney
has been named to the Team of the Week by D3Hoops.
Kearney lifted CUA to a 58-48 win over Scranton on January 19
behind a career-high 32-point performance on 15 of 24
shooting. The Virginia native scored the Cardinals first 14
points and 16 of their first 18, to help CUA snap a 10-game skid
vs. the Royals.
Kearney also pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots
in the win.
Earlier in the week, Kearney tossed in 19 points on 7 of 10
shooting, to go along with six rebounds in a win against
Susquehanna. The captain also blocked three shots and handed
out a pair of assists.
Kearney leads CUA in scoring (17.5) and rebounding (6.8) this
season, while connecting on 55.7 percent of his attempts from the
floor and 70 percent at the charity stripe.
Kearney and the No. 10 Cardinals (15-2, 5-1 Landmark Conference)
will hit the court again on Wednesday evening when they play host
to Goucher College. Tip-off from inside the DuFour Center is
set for 7 p.m.
