D3Hoops.com ranks CUA No. 11 in this week's Top 25 poll

WASHINGTON – CUA is ranked No. 11 in this week’s D3Hoops.com Top 25 poll, announced on Monday.  The Cardinals went 1-1 last week, suffering their first conference loss at Juniata, before bouncing back with a convincing win at Moravian.  CUA is currently 13-2 overall and 3-1 in the Landmark Conference.

CUA began last week with an 85-75 loss at Juniata on January 9.  The Eagles shot 51-percent from the floor and placed four players in double figures to earn the win, while CUA’s Chris Kearney finished with 20 points and seven boards.

The Cardinals quickly rebounded from that loss by crushing Moravian 85-59 on the road.  This time it was CUA lighting up the scoreboard, shooting a blistering 62-percent from the floor, including a 68-percent performance in the second half.

Shawn Holmes was one of four Cardinals in double figures with 20 points, while Steve Limberiou knocked down five 3-pointers en route to 19 points.

CUA continues to pace the conference in a number of statistical categories, including scoring offense (73.0), scoring defense (57.1), scoring margin (+15.9), free throw percentage (72.6), field goal percentage (46.6), 3-point field goal percentage (40.0), assists (15.3), turnover margin (+6.0), and assist/turnover ratio (1.5).

No. 11 CUA is back at it on Wednesday evening when the Cardinals play host to Susquehanna University.  Start time is set for 7 p.m. and all of the action will be shown live on cuacardinals.com.
