No. 11 Cardinals host Susquehanna on Wednesday evening

WASHINGTON - After bouncing back with a big win at Moravian over the weekend, No. 11 CUA returns home Wednesday evening to host Susquehanna.  The Cardinals shot a season-high 62-percent from the floor vs. the Greyhounds and placed four players in double figures en route to the 85-59 victory.  Shawn Holmes led the way with 20 points, while Steve Limberiou buried five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points.

Limberiou leads the Landmark Conference and ranks 13th in the country in 3-point shooting.  The Pittsburgh native is hitting 48-pecent from beyond the arc and has made at least two 3-pointers 11 times this season.

CUA leads the Landmark Conference and ranks 8th in the country in scoring defense, allowing only 57.1 points per game.  The Cardinals have held 11 opponents to 60 points or fewer this season, with a low of 35 vs. Denison.

CUA is a perfect 6-0 at home this season, with the six wins coming by an average of 22.8 points.  The Cardinals are holding teams to 52.5 points on 35% shooting inside the DuFour Center, while shooting an impressive 46% from 3-point range.

CUA's string of games with double-digit assists is now at 15 after the Cardinals handed out 16 helpers in the win over Moravian.  CUA leads the Landmark Conference in assists, averaging 15.3 per game, led by Bryson Fonville's 4.4 per game (3rd in the Landmark).  CUA is also fourth in America in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.52).

CUA has shot 71 more free throws than its opponents this season (307-236) and made 52 more free throws (223-171).  The Cardinals have shot more free throws than their opponent 12 times this season and their 223 made free throws are the most of any team in the Landmark Conference.

At 1-3 in the Landmark Conference, Susquehanna is currently tied with Drew for seventh place in the standings.  The Crusaders have had an up-and-down season up to this point, having put together back-to-back wins just once.

Susquehanna is 3-5 on the road, with three of those losses coming vs. league foes.  Brandon Hedley is the team’s leading scorer at 11.8 points per game, while Spencer Ortmyer is next in line at 10.7 per game.  Susquehanna has struggled with its shooting thus far, hitting 41% from the floor, 35% from 3-point range and 59% at the charity stripe.

The Cardinals and Crusaders are meeting for the 23rd time on Wednesday with the series knotted at 11 wins apiece.  The teams have split their last eight meetings, including last year when the home team won each game.
