WASHINGTON – Alex Noble scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Goucher College to a 787-71 overtime victory against Catholic University at DuFour Center on Wednesday night.
Freshman Louis Khouri led the Cardinals with career highs of 30 points, nine rebounds and six assists. An electrical engineering major, Khouri was 10 of 17 from the floor, 5 of 9 from 3-point range and 5 of 6 from the line.
Jared Prince totaled 14 points and a personal-best 12 boards for CUA (14-10, 8-5 Landmark Conference), which lost its third-straight game, all at home. It was the second double-double of Prince's career and second in his past three games.
Kevin Miles added 15 points and eight boards for Goucher (10-14, 4-8), and Julian Livingston had 14 points and four blocks off the bench.
The Cardinals took a 33-22 advantage into halftime, but lost a 56-51 lead with 3:45 to go in regulation when Goucher hit two of its 11 3-pointers. The Cards needed a late Khouri free throw to tie the game at 57 in regulation. The Gophers scored nine straight points in overtime to take a 68-59 lead with 45 seconds left.
Noble, 9 of 18 from the field, was perfect from the line (8-for-8), including the visitors' final four points.
CUA concludes the regular season at Moravian College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
