WASHINGTON - Corey Stanford continues to be recognized as one of the top rookies in the nation, being named to the D III News All-Freshman Team.
Stanford is one of 10 first year players from around the country named to the D III News All-Freshman Team.
The freshman forward made an immediate impact for head coach Steve Howes, scoring 24 points in just his second career game, while going 5-of-7 from downtown. He scored a career-high 27 points on two occasions and led the team with four double-doubles. He finished the year with 340 points and 181 rebounds, good for an average of 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
Stanford's 7.0 rebounds per game led the Cardinals and was ranked seventh in the Landmark, and first among freshman.
