WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's basketball standout Louis Khouri was honored on Thursday as he was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District Team.
Khouri, who is now recognized as one of the nation's top student-athletes for his combined performance athletically and in the classroom, boasts a 3.76 grade point average in electrical engineering.
A senior guard from Alexandria, Va., Khouri ranks second on the team with 16.0 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. Those marks are good for seventh and ninth, respectively, in the Landmark Conference.
A true sharpshooter, he ranks third in the league with 2.7 3-pointers per game and boasts an 86.7 free throw percentage, good for second-best in the Landmark.
Khouri has twice been honored as the Landmark Athlete of the Week and is a two-time Academic Honor Roll selection, as well as a Landmark Champion last season.
He was one of five student-athletes selected in District II, which is comprised of schools from D.C., Conn., Del., Ky., Md., N.J., R.I. and W. Va. Khouri now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be selected later this month.
