Morley, Maloney pace Catholic to 69-63 win over Marymount
WASHINGTON - Pat Maloney had 13 points and eight assists and Will Morley scored 13 points to lead the Catholic men's basketball team to a 69-63 victory over Marymount in CAC action at DuFour Center on Saturday.
The Cardinals, winners of seven of their past eight games, hit 50 percent of their field goals and improved to 16-5 and 8-3 in the CAC. The Saints, who have lost five straight to Catholic, fell to 10-12 (6-6 CAC).
Dallas Crawley paced Marymount with 17 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, all game highs. Andre Coles added 15 points and six boards.
The Cardinals, who led 44-29 with 16:20 to go, saw their lead dwindle to 46-41 on four consecutive 3-pointers, three by Terry Hoffman (12 points). Crawley cut Catholic's lead to 63-59 with 2:56 left on a layup, but a Maloney free throw and two by Matt Hilleary made it 66-59 at the 2:09 mark.
Hilleary finished with 10 points and three blocks and Tim Judge added seven points and seven rebounds.
