Morley's streak helps Catholic drop Marymount 83-61
ARLINGTON, Va. - Freshman forward Will Morley scored 13 consecutive points early in the second half and finished with a career-high 22 to lead Catholic to an 83-61 win at Marymount on Jan. 20.
Morley, who had seven points at the half, converted all nine of his free throws during the game and led three Cardinals in double figures as Catholic, ranked No. 20 in Division III, improved to 12-4, 4-2 in the CAC.
Catholic led by 19 most of the first half, thanks to hot three-point shooting. The Cardinals shot 6-for-9 from long range in the first half, one by senior guard Tim Judge to open the game. Marymount (6-10, 2-4) never found its range from downtown, shooting 1-for-7 en route to a 41-25 halftime deficit and finishing 3-for-16.
Marymount scored the first two baskets of the second half to cut the Catholic advantage to 12 points but could never break into single digits. Andre Coles and Dallas Crawley each recorded double-doubles for the Saints. Coles had 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Crawley had 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.
Senior guard Pat Maloney had 16 points for Catholic and backcourt mate Andy Rice added 14 points, including a perfect 7-for-7 from the line. The Cardinals shot 13-for-29 from the floor in each half.
