Wise's hot shooting leads CUA to road victory

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Senior Kevin Wise netted a season-high 23 points to lead fourth-ranked Catholic to its fourth consecutive win in an 81-69 win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Thursday night. Wise was 7-of-14 from the floor and connected on five three-pointers.
Junior William Morley added 19 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Wise and Morley were two of five Cardinals to score in double figures.
The teams traded baskets early on but a 26-11 run to close the period gave CUA a 47-31 halftime lead.
Morley scored 17 of his 19 points in a first half that saw CUA shoot 56.8% and go 8-for-9 from beyond the arc.
The second half saw Catholic go up by as much a 19 points, but a 9-0 run by the Battling Bishops cut the lead to 73-66 with just under three minutes to play.
Wise helped to seal the game as he connected on four free throws down the stretch.
Bradley Blue led North Carolina Wesleyan (5-5) with 20 points.
Senior Matt Hilleary added 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks for the Cardinals. Junior Blair Mills chipped in 12 points and five rebounds and sophomore Will Jawando added a career-high 10 points.
Catholic (11-1) returns to the DuFour Center on Saturday to take on Johns Hopkins in non-conference action at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast by D3hoops.com
