WASHINGTON - Seniors Adam Dickman (Walkersville, Md./ Thomas Johnson), Blair Mills (Hebron, Md./ Wicomico) and William Morley (Olney, Md. /Good Counsel) have been named captains of the Catholic University men's basketball team. They are the last remaining members of the Cardinals' 2001 national championship team.

Dickman was CUA's starting point guard last season and led the squad in assists (5.1 apg), 3-point field-goal percentage (54.8) and minutes played (28.4 mpg). He made 83.7 percent of his free throws and averaged 5.9 points per game.

Mills, a 6-foot-5 reserve forward each of the past three seasons, averaged a career-high-tying 6.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 2002-03. He connected on 49.2 percent of his field goals and a personal-high 84.9 percent of his free throws. He will contend for a starting position this season.

Morley, a 6-5 forward, was named first team All-Capital Athletic Conference last year after averaging a career-high 15.7 points. He was second on the team in rebounds (5.9 rpg) and field-goal percentage (53.3), and hit 80.4 percent of his free throws. He became a CUA starter midway through the Cardinals' national-title-winning season of 2000-01 and was named CAC Rookie of the Year.

CUA, 24-5 last season, has qualified for the NCAA Tournament and won the CAC regular-season title six years in a row. Its record over that time is 150-29 (.838). The Cards advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 each year from 1998-2002. They open the 2003-04 season against Guilford College in the Franklin & Marshall Sponaugle Tournament in Lancaster, Pa., on Nov. 21.
