Morley named CAC athlete of the week; DiRomualdo honorable mention

WASHINGTON --- Senior William Morley (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for January 5th -January 11th. Sophomore Lindsay DiRomualdo (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was named an honorable mention.

The 6-5 forward led the Cardinals to a pair of wins this week to earn the CAC Men's Basketball athlete of the week award. Morley averaged 19 points and six rebounds in four games this week including a 23.5 points per game average in the two games at the 2004 CUA Pepsi Classic. Morley was named to the All-Tournament team for his efforts this weekend.

For the season, Morley leads the Cardinals in scoring (18.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg). He has scored in double figures in every game this season.

DiRomualdo, a 5-6 guard, helped the Cardinals to a 2-0 week, winning 63-52 at Susquehanna and defeating previously unbeaten Montclair State, 77-68, on Friday night. The sophomore scored a game-high 13 points and added five rebounds, five steals and four assists in the win over the Crusaders. She followed that up against the Red Hawks, scoring 17 points and adding six rebounds and four assists.

DiRomualdo leads the squad in scoring (12.1 ppg) and is shooting a team-best 37.8% (14-of-37) from three-point land.

Both teams are back in action this Wednesday, January 14th as they play at Mary Washington in CAC action. The women tipoff at 6 p.m. while the men follow at 8 p.m.
