Catholic 78, Salisbury 57

WASHINGTON --- Catholic tied a season-high with nine three-pointers and outscored Salisbury 42-27 in the second half en route to a 78-57 win over the Sea Gulls Wednesday night in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

The Cardinals were 15-of-30 from the floor in the second half and 5-of-9 from beyond the arc as CUA won its fifth straight.

Senior William Morley (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) helped paved the way with a game-high 21 points. It was his eighth game with 20-plus points this season.

Catholic (15-5, 7-2 CAC) took a 36-30 lead into the locker room but Salisbury rallied early in the second. Two Segun Odumeru free throws capped an 11-0 run in which the Sea Gulls led 40-39 with just over 17 minutes in the stanza.

An Adam Dickman (Walkersville, Md./Thomas Johnson) trey reclaimed the CUA lead at 46-44 with 14:33 to play and help ignite a 15-0 run by Catholic. Dickman had just three-points but dished out seven assists.

Sophomore Patrick Satalin (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) added 12 points, 10 coming in the second half. His second three-pointer of the night gave the Cardinals a 68-51 lead with 5:37 to play.

Odumeru and Ray Williams each scored 12 points apiece to pace the Sea Gulls (4-14, 1-8 CAC).

Catholic plays at Marymount in CAC action this Saturday, February 7th at 4 p.m.
