Fumai added 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the year, and Patrick Dwyer had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Jesse Gutekunst supplied 24 points and 12 rebounds for Hood (16-5, 9-3).

Olivero nailed a 3-pointer from the right wing to give CUA a 57-51 lead with 2:34 to play. Darnell Edmonds answered with a trey before Mike Wasilenko hit two free throws to boost the lead back to five with 1:07 to go. Wasilenko stole the ball seven seconds later and the Blazers got no closer than three points.

Tim Abercrombie's 3-pointer decreased the Cardinals' advantage to 65-62 at the 16.4-second mark. Olivero, fouled almost immediately, sank two from the line and Fumai closed out the scoring. Fumai finished 14 of 18 from the stripe.

Sean Robine added seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Hood, which trailed 38-27 at halftime. The Blazers' leading scorer, Ryan Junghans (20.3 ppg), sprained his right ankle while being fouled late in the first half and did not return. He was 1-for-6 for two points.

Gutekunst (18.6 ppg) picked up two fouls in the opening two minutes and played just five of his 21 minutes in the opening half. The 6-foot-8 junior still made 8 of 15 shots and all seven of his free throws.
