Earns Landmark Conference Player of the Week Nod
12/07/09
WASHINGTON-- After dropping 28
points against Goucher and hitting his 1000th point as a Cardinal,
Jason Banzhaf was named Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Player
of the Week today.
Banzhaf produced a pair of strong all-around games for Catholic
this past week. He made history with a double-double in a Landmark
win over Goucher as his 28 points moved him past the 1,000-point
mark for his career, making him the first men’s basketball
player with 1,000 points playing solely as a member of the
Landmark. He also had 13 rebounds in the win over Goucher, while
also adding a steal. Earlier in the week he scored 19 points and
grabbed five boards in a loss to Washington & Lee. He averaged
23.5 points and nine rebounds per game for the week and shot
50-percent from the field.
