Jason Banzhaf Honored by ECAC
WASHINGTON-- After cresting the 1000-point plateau on Saturday and being named the Landmark Conference men's basketball Player of the Week on Monday, Jason Banzhaf continued his streak of honors this time by the ECAC.
Banzhaf was named ECAC DIII South Player of the Week for his strong performances in the past week. Banzhaf made history with a double-double in a Landmark Conference win over Goucher as his 28 points moved him past the 1,000-point mark for his career, making him the first men’s basketball player with 1,000 points playing solely as a member of the Landmark Conference. He also had 13 rebounds in the win over Goucher, while also adding a steal. Earlier in the week he scored 19 points and grabbed five boards in a loss to Washington & Lee. He averaged 23.5 points and nine rebounds per game for the week and shot 50-percent from the field.
