Banzhaf Honored as All-Region Selection


WASHINGTON- CUA forward Jason Banzhaf has been named to the Third Team All-Middle Atlantic Region by after earning Landmark Conference First Team honors for his tremendous contributions this season.

Banzhaf led a talented Cardinal squad to an 18-9 record this season, starting in all but one of 26 games. The junior finished his junior campaign with 397 points and 211 rebounds, averaging 14.7 PPG and 7.8 RPG. Banzhaf reached the 1,000 point milestone in front of a home crowd on December 5th, and he now sits at #13 in CUA history for career points. He also posted six double-doubles, 27 assists, and 20 steals on the year.

The Livingston, N.J., native’s best game in the 2009-10 season was a victory over conference rival Goucher, where he netted 28 points and collected 13 rebounds. He also shot 52 percent from the field and 73.8 percent from the charity stripe. Other highlights include a 24 point performance at York (Pa.) and a 23 point night at Susquehanna.

This is the second consecutive year that Banzhaf has been honored with a D3Hoops All-Region accolade. He has also garnered Landmark Conference recognition for three straight years, including Second Team and Rookie of the Year nods as a freshman, and a First Team honor in his sophomore season.
