Banzhaf named Landmark Conference Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Senior Jason Banzhaf has been named the
Landmark Conference Player of the Week, it was announced on
Monday. Banzhaf netted a game-high 23 points to go along with
11 rebounds in CUA’s impressive 76-64 win over Frostburg
State on November 23 in the Cardinals’ lone game last
Banzhaf sank 9 of 13 shots from the field, including both of his three-point attempts, in the Cardinals win over the Bobcats. His 11 rebounds tied teammate Chris Kearney for game-high honors, and the senior forward also totaled a block, an assist and a steal.
For the season, Banzhaf is leading CUA in scoring (18.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.7), while shooting 64.7-percent from the field and 60-percent from downtown. The New Jersey native has scored in double figures in each of the Cardinals three games.
Banzhaf and the Cardinals return to the court on Monday evening when they play the first of four straight road games, beginning at Haverford. CUA and the Fords will tip things off at 7:00.
