ECAC honors Banzhaf with Player of the Week accolades
WASHINGTON – One day after being named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week, CUA senior Jason Banzhaf was named the ECAC Division III South Player of the Week on Tuesday. The New Jersey native led CUA to a 3-0 record a week ago, while averaging 17 points and 12.3 rebounds.
Banzhaf had a terrific trio of games last week, beginning with a 14-point, 8-rebound performance in the Cardinals' 52-40 victory at Haverford on November 29. The forward then scored 18 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in a tough 52-50 road win at Carnegie Mellon on December 1.
Banzhaf ended his week with yet another double-double, this time coming up with 19 points and 14 boards in a 73-57 Landmark Conference victory at Goucher on Saturday, December 4.
For the week Banzhaf shot 61 percent from the floor, 75 percent from beyond the three-point arc and 90 percent at the charity stripe. He is currently leading the Cardinals in scoring at 17.8 points per game as well as rebounding (10 per game).

Banzhaf and the unbeaten Cardinals head to Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening as they take on the Bulldogs of DeSales University. Tip-off is slated for 7:00.
