DiGiesi Named Landmark Player of the Week
Cardinals go 1-1 with a seven-overtime contest

4/28/2008

WASHINGTON - Catholic University defender Mike DiGiesi (Cherry Hill, N.J./St Joseph's Prep) has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Defender of the Week after helping CUA to a 1-1 performance over the past seven days.  CUA completed its season on Saturday with a 7-9 overall record and a 2-4 mark in conference.

DiGiesi made an offensive and defensive impact for the Cardinals this past week. He scored a goal and added three assists in a remarkable seven-overtime game against York (Pa.). CUA lost the game in the seventh overtime, but DiGiesi contributed to a defense that kept the visitors off the scoreboard over the first six overtime periods. He then added another assist as CUA limited Landmark foe Moravian to 23 shots and five goals in its season finale.

DiGiesi will be one of the numerous returning starters for the Cardinals.  CUA will lose just three players to graduation in 2009.
