USILA names Fuccillo an honorable mention All-American
WASHINGTON – Chris Fuccillo has been named an honorable mention All-American by USILA, it was recently announced. Just days after learning he had been selected to the prestigious North-South Senior Game, Fuccillo earns his first career postseason All-American honor.
Fuccillo recently put the finishing touches on a terrific career for the Cardinals. After receiving preseason All-American accolades prior to the season, Fuccillo went out and earned his fourth consecutive All-League honor, and his third straight on the First Team.
A native of Patchogue, New York, Fuccillo found the back of the net 41 times in 2012, raising his career total to 146, which ties him with Conor Kelly for the most in school annals.
Fuccillo's 41 goals and 48 points led the Cardinals this season. He scored multiple goals in 11 games, including a high of six at Drew on April 5. Three of Fuccillo's goals were game-winners, as he helped lead CUA to its third consecutive Landmark Conference Tournament appearance.
Fuccillo also scooped up 34 ground balls, including five vs. Hood and Frostburg State, and he caused 17 turnovers on the year.
Fuccillo becomes the third men's lacrosse player at CUA to earn All-America honors, joining Tim Lambert (2000) and Jerry Clifford (2006).
