Fuccillo earns second straight weekly award from Landmark

WASHINGTON – For the second consecutive week, Chris Fuccillo has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  CUA has now won an award in each of the last three weeks, with Patrick Pfaff earning defensive honors two weeks ago.

Fuccillo led the Cardinals with eight goals and nine points in a pair of wins last week.  He began his week with five goals on eight shots on goal, to go along with two ground balls in a 12-10 win over Marymount on March 1.

Two days later, Fuccillo totaled three goals, including the game-winner, one assist, one ground ball and two caused turnovers in an 11-5 victory at Gwynedd-Mercy.  The win was CUA's third in a row and improved the Cardinals to 4-1 overall.

For the year, Fuccillo has scored a team-leading 15 goals and also handed out two assists.  He has added 16 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.

Fuccillo and the Cardinals are currently in Florida where they will take on Clark University (Mass.) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Clearwater. CUA will then head to North Carolina where the Cardinals will face Guilford on Saturday at 1 p.m.
