Landmark Conference names Fuccillo Off. Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – Chris Fuccillo has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  Fuccillo tied for the team lead in points last week, scoring six in the Cardinals' two contests.

Fuccillo scored two goals, including one on the man-up, in CUA's game at Hampden-Sydney on February 21.  The senior also scooped up three ground balls and caused a turnover.

On February 25, Fuccillo netted a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, to go along with an assist, five ground balls and four caused turnovers in CUA's 11-6 win at Frostburg State.  The win was the 100th in program history for CUA.

Fuccillo scored once in the first quarter, once in the third quarter, and again in the fourth quarter to seal CUA's second win of the season.

Fuccillo is currently second for CUA in goals (7) and points (8).  He also ranks among the team leaders in ground balls (13) and caused turnovers (6).

Fuccillo and the Cardinals play twice this week, beginning with their home opener on Wednesday evening vs. Marymount.  The opening face-off is set for 6 p.m.
