WASHINGTON – Following a career-high 14 saves and his first win in goal, junior Patrick Pfaff was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.  Pfaff helped lead CUA to a 7-3 win over Hood on Saturday, marking the fifth straight year the Cardinals have opened with a win.

Pfaff stopped eight shots in the first half on Saturday and added six more in the second.  The Florida native sent back four shots in the third quarter when CUA broke things open with a 3-0 scoring run.

Pfaff also scooped up three ground balls in his 60 minutes of work.
