Saxton named a Capital One Academic All-American
WASHINGTON – Marc Saxton has been named a 2012 Capital One
Academic All-American, it was recently announced. Saxton was
named to the Third Team and joins teammate Ryan Doyle as an
Academic All-American, after Doyle was honored by the USILA last
month.
An economics major, Saxton graduated from CUA with a 3.89 grade
point average. He is a multi-year member of the Dean’s
List and Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, and was also a
member of Phi Betta Kappa Honor Society and the President’s
Society.
Saxton was selected to study at University College Dublin in
Ireland during the 2010-11 academic year and finished his playing
career with 66 goals, 78 points, 65 ground balls and 34 caused
turnovers.
The Maryland native was a 2010 All-Landmark Conference selection
after totaling a career-high 30 goals and 38 points. This
past season, Saxton registered 25 goals, 30 points and 28 ground
balls in helping lead the Cardinals to their third consecutive
Landmark Conference Tournament berth.
